The Four Types Of Sentence
1.   

1.    Simple Sentences
If contains 1 Independent clause
Eg : I purchased some curtains for my home and asked to have them installed the next day.
2.    Compound Sentence
Contains 2 Independent clause and connected by coordinating conjunction <for, and, not, but, or, yet, & so>.
First ic :
I was very disappointed to find that not only were they different color than what I had ordered
Coord, Conjunction :
, but
Second ic :
one of them was ripped
3.    Complex Sentence
Contains 1 IC and 1 dependent clause (DC). DC begin with subordinating conjunction.
Eg : I have complained to employees who sell me curtains, Sally Sarah Eugene, because she can't help me so I refer to you.
4.    Compound-Complex Sentence
Contains 2 IC and 1 DC at least. connected by coordinating conj. & subordinating conj.
One DC :
that this is not wearing
First ic :
I want the replacement curtain to be the right color as I choose
Coord, Conjunction :
, and
Second ic :
it must all be in the right conditions

my leadership skills which were honed in my capacity as the editor in chief of my school’s student publication and as a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman of our Barangay
3.       Complex Sentence
Contains 1 IC and 1 dependent clause (DC). DC begin with subordinating conjunction.
Eg : As  you have mentioned, I sincerely believe that I meet your requirements for the position.
4.       Compound-Complex Sentence
Contains 2 IC and 1 DC at least. connected by coordinating conj. & subordinating conj.
One DC :
Your advertisement in the March 22 issue of the Manila Bulletin calls for an executive secretary
First ic :
who is proficient in communication skills, computer literate
Coord, Conjunction :
, and
Second ic :
with pleasing personality
